Coming soon: A free email service from Google: Gmail.

Amidst rampant media speculation, Google Inc. today announced it is testing a preview release of Gmail — a free search-based webmail service with a storage capacity of up to eight billion bits of information, the equivalent of 500,000 pages of email. Per user.
What does it offer?
– Search: Built on Google search technology, Gmail enables people to quickly search every email they’ve ever sent or received. Using keywords or advanced search features, Gmail users can find what they need, when they need it.
– Storage: Google believes people should be able to hold onto their mail forever. That’s why Gmail comes with 1,000 megabytes (1 gigabyte) of free storage — more than 100 times what most other free webmail services offer.
– Speed: Gmail makes using email faster and more efficient by eliminating the need to file messages into folders, and by automatically organizing individual emails into meaningful “conversations” that show messages in the context of all the replies sent in response to them. And it turns annoying spam e-mail messages into the equivalent of canned meat.
“Sounds good to me. Maybe it’s time that I dump all of my current email accounts and switch to Gmail. After all, 95% of my incoming email is Spam. I figure Google should have a pretty decent spam filter.”

The Adventures of Seinfeld & Superman
The first of two short films starring Jerry Sienfeld Seinfeld and Superman has been posted at the American Express site. There were some commercials with the two a while back, but this is much longer (about four minutes long), and while some of it could probably have been trimmed a bit, it’s really quite entertaining. Which is odd since it’s basically just a commercial for Amex.

Using a trampoline is promoted as fun. But the growing popularity of trampolines among 8-year-olds to adults is resulting in a dramatic increase in serious injuries - including broken necks, spinal cord injuries, and disabling head traumas, many of which result in permanent paralysis as well as death. In addition, trampolines are responsible for many less serious injuries such as broken bones, including legs, arms, and other parts of the body, as well as different types of dislocations and muscle damage.
“Many people are surprised to learn that the majority of injuries — 70 per cent — happen on the bed of the trampoline. Only 30 per cent result from falls off the trampoline. So even if a parent is supervising a child, there’s little they can do to prevent an injury. “
You may recall late last year that many stores realized that people were finding (or making) fake coupons online and bringing them into the store - where clueless cashiers were accepting them. Many stores began banning any kind of internet coupon. Now, however, the “internet coupon industry” is fighting back and are convincing stores that internet coupons aren’t such a bad idea after all. They say they’re going after those who are creating the fraudulent coupons and better educating stores on how to accept legitimate ones.
