Diskeeper 9 By Executive Software

Disk fragmentation causes crashes, slowdowns, freeze-ups and even total system failures. Manual defragmentation just isnt practicalit takes too long. NEW Diskeeper 9 is the Set It and Forget It high-speed defragmenter that runs undetectably in the background and makes the problems of fragmentation go away forever!
It isn’t too often that I make a big stink over Disk Defragmentation, that is until now! I recently had opportunity to use Diskeeper 9 software to “defrag” my hardrive. Up untill now I was using the standard defrag utility that comes with windows. Like most geeks I like to have my hardrive in order and would try and defrag my drive at least once a month, during which time my machine would over time get slower and slower.
I’m not quite sure what the difference is between Microsoft’s defrag utility and Executive Software’s Diskeeper 9 Utility, but I can not believe the very noticeable performance boost after I used it! And the best part of the whole thing is the fact that all you do is:
(1)Install the software
(2)Defrag your drive
(3)Set it and Forget it forever!!!!!! You won’t even know it is on!
No more long Defragmentation sessions! and blistering speed continues!
You all know me, when it comes to laying out dough on software, especially when it comes to a simple utility!
It pains me to say that this purchase is so well worth it, you shouldn’t hesitate.

While hanging a television on the living- room wall may have captured the imagination of American consumers, it has yet to empty many pocketbooks. That may soon change as a glut of liquid crystal display flat-panel televisions, called L.C.D.’s, enter the market, a result of a boom in new factories.
According to several manufacturers and analysts, the prices for L.C.D. flat-panel TV’s will drop in the new year, falling by as much as 30 percent by the end of 2005. The prices of plasma flat-panel TV’s are also expected to fall significantly. … Link: The New York Times.

On average, the human brain can hold only five to nine “random bits of information” in short-term memory. Considering the brain’s limited capacity and the sheer number of secret names, codes, and words a person needs to remember in this password-protected age, it’s no surprise that the most common password is simply “password.”
Besides serving as an easy-to-remember code for less-creative computer users, “password” is often used as the default password for many web sites and programs, making it extremely common and not at all secure. In other words, “password” is a bad password.
Other perennial favorites include “God,” “sex,” “money,” and “love.” Passwords based on the names or birthdays of partners, children, or pets are also quite common. Here’s a pretty lengthy list of common passwords. Make sure to scan it and look for yours. If yours made the list, it’s probably a good idea to change it.

I got tired of cleaning Linda’s computer free of crap that IE seems to attract. Linda’s work requires her to use Internet Explorer and no alternate.
So I finally took the plunge and Upgraded Linda’s computer with all of Microsoft’s Patches, and the latest version of XP, SP2. After all of my whining and kicking, it was a very un-eventful process. In fact, Harmless!
All I did was to make sure all Spyware and Malware were removed by using “Spybot” and “Adware“. The I ran a full system check with “Norton Antivirus“. Then for good measure I ran “Crap Cleaner“.
Then I turned updates “On” and crossed my fingers, and went for some turkey.
Go ahead and allow the Updates. it’s ok! Nuff said.

So far today I have channel surfed between “March of the Wooden Soldiers, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, ran out to the local “King Kullen” to get a few items, and watched in horror as Linda ran flying out the door muttering something about the Macy’s $10 off $10 coupon in the newspaper.
Yes, indeed. Thanksgiving day is here!
Update:Linda just called me from her cell phone all upset! It seems that the word is out about the Macy’s $10 off $10 and the Newsday newspaper is SOLD OUT all over the place! Poor Linda.
Yet another UPDATE:Linda just walked in with a huge grin on her face. She ended up with 7 copies of the paper from a remote secluded “Starbucks” on her way home. All’s well that ends well.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
