Due to the passing of Rich’s father the other day, a reunion of “Best Friends” was the only good thing to come out of such an event.
Our most heartfelt condolences go out to the Conte family.

Actor George Takei, best known as Mr. Sulu on the classic TV series Star Trek , comes out of the closet. He describes it as… “It’s not really coming out, which suggests opening a door and stepping through. It’s more like a long, long walk through what began as a narrow corridor that starts to widen.” (that’s not the only thing that’s widening!!)
I am repulsed. My whole childhood has been based on a sham. When will the madness end!!!!
Thanks for the update Michael.

“Not that there’s anything wrong with that!”
I wonder what they are going to do with that much money.
Also would you consider that a double, triple or just one big chin.
People all the time talk about how much easier it is to get by today than it was for people 100 years ago, or 500 years ago, but I’m not sure that’s true. Granted our quality of life has improved, but I think we’re closer to hardship than we realize.
Consider a couple hundred years ago you could pick yourself a plot of land, build your cabin, and raise a family. If a hurricane blew your house to pieces, you would just suck it up, chop down a few more trees, and start rebuilding.
Try that today.
We’re still cleaning up after the hurricanes, and thousands of people are still without homes or jobs. I just read that a portion of Japan, which was struck by an earthquake a year ago, is still recovering from the event, and “More than 9,000 people are said to be still living in temporary accommodation and many homes lack power and water.”
That’s scary.
I know you all may think, “Well yeah, that’s what insurance is for.” But insurance companies are just businesses looking to make a profit.
Think about thousands of people displaced by a major weather event, all of which have lost jobs all looking for new jobs at the same time.
In other words, many of us are a single incident away from losing everything and not being able to provide for our families.
Can we really call that progress?
